Women’s Release & Redemption: Freedom and Hope After an Abortion
Sundays 12:15pm-1:30pm | June 14 - July 26, 2026
Madison West Side
A confidential, structured group for women seeking healing from the impact of abortion. While we do not condone abortion, we recognize the deep shame, guilt, fear, and isolation that often follow. Over the course of eight weeks, participants are invited to process their experiences and emotions in a supportive environment, while engaging tools and resources that foster healing in relational, emotional, and spiritual areas.
Grounded in the hope of the gospel, this group points to the freedom Jesus offers through forgiveness and restoration. As 1 John 1:9 reminds us, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Oaks Group FAQs:
Are groups similar to classes?
The structure of these groups is peer support and experiential processing rather than informational, knowledge-based learning. While the group will go through resources together, the goal of the group is not to teach and inform, but to develop encouraging and supportive relationships with God and others and equip the group with resources.
Do groups have start and end dates, or are they ongoing?
Although some groups are ongoing, most groups run in sessions with a start and end date for about a 3 month session. This structure builds trust, preserves confidentiality, and creates camaraderie for the process of healing. We encourage supportive relationships between group members to continue naturally beyond the duration of the group session.
Where do groups meet?
Some Oaks groups meet virtually, and others meet in person. In-person groups are hosted by our recognized church partners and are open to participants from other churches in the region.
If your church is interested in hosting a group for your congregation or for churches in your area, you can learn more and begin the church partner process here.
Do I have to be a Christian in order to join a group?
We believe that we are whole human beings, and so healing is physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual. As a result, Oaks groups will incorporate healing practices of Christian spirituality, but groups are open to anyone, regardless of your spiritual or religious background.
Can I audit a group if I want to see how to lead a group?
If you are interested in leading a similar group, please fill out the Oaks volunteer application! Oaks groups are led by trained volunteers and are only for participants seeking facilitation in their healing process. Oaks content and creative works are copyrighted and cannot be used without becoming an approved Oaks volunteer.
What if I’m looking for support, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to join a group?
In addition to groups, Oaks also facilitates one-on-one connections with volunteers called advocates. Like group facilitators, they are trained volunteers and are usually a few steps ahead in their own healing process. They offer support as you engage your healing with God and others. Find more information about intake and advocates under our page here.
